| Why should I be Baptized?
|
  |
At the moment I accept that Jesus died
for me and my sins and that He wants a personal relationship
with me, I need to show the world by water baptism that
I celebrate a new life publicly with Christ.
- To follow the example set by Jesus Christ.
"At that time Jesus came from Nazareth and was baptized
by John in the river." [Mark 1:9 ]
- It is an act of obedience.
“We know that we have come to know Him, if we
obey His commands.” [1 John 2:3]
|
Why baptism by immersion? |
 |
Because Christ was baptized that way and
every baptism in the Bible was by immersion (never any
other method).
- “As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up
out of the water.” [Matthew 3:16]
- "...then both Philip and the man went down
into the water and Philip baptized him. When they
came up out of the water…” [Acts 8:38-39]

My child has expressed interest in baptism.
Can he/ she be baptized? |
 |
Yes! Your child receives salvation when
he/she reaches an age of understanding and makes the decision
to accept Jesus as his/her personal Lord and Savior. If
your child expresses interest in baptism, talk with him/her
and make sure he/she understands what salvation is and
what baptism symbolizes. If he/she is ready, we will gladly
baptize him/her. |
Is baptism neccessary for salvation? |
 |
No. Salvation is received when a person
puts their faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus
Christ. Salvation is by Grace:
- "For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast." [Ephesians
2:8-9]
- "...if you confess with your mouth the Lord
Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised
Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the
heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation." [Romans
10:9-10]
Baptism is an act of obedience, professing
your total faith in Jesus Christ and identifying with
Him publically. Salvation is an act of God, not
of man. |
